We’re excited to welcome every new member at The Bar!

You won’t find machines and treadmills crowding our Tampa-based fitness club; you’ll find a community of like-minded people pushing themselves and each other towards their goals. We’re serious about fitness, health, and helping our members achieve excellence, whatever that means to them.

Our bootcamps and trainer sessions focus on weight training and floor work. You’ll learn the skills you need for improving your health, whether that’s weight loss, strength gain, or improved endurance.

Our Founder
Meet Coach Bishop

Coach Bishop is the driving force behind The Bar Performance Training. He’s serious about sports and teaching and brings that commitment to every aspect of The Bar. As an accomplished athlete, he knows what it takes to achieve greatness and how fitness can transform the body and mind.

A lauded high school athletics career in varsity football and powerlifting earned him an athletic scholarship as a defensive starter at Belhaven University. From there, the Buffalo Bills recruited Coach Bishop to camp, and the following year he joined the Tampa Bay Storm. He went on to become an Olympic sprinter hopeful, and trained with the former Olympian, Coach Rey Robinson.

His athletic accomplishments were foundational to his career in teaching. He’s led students to full athletic scholarships and became Teacher of the Year three years running and Coach of the Year in 2014.

Coach Bishop knows how to get the best from athletes, and his expertise, drive, and leadership are at the core of every bootcamp at The Bar. Meet him in person at our fitness club in Tampa, FL.
